Retro #75

I was so excited to be a top pick a couple of weeks ago with Retro rubber challenge blog!  retro top pick

Like I’ve said before, I LOVE that it challenges us stampers to dig in to the stash of older stamps that we have!  After all, we bought them because we loved them.  They deserve more use than just the couple of times they probably got when they first arrived, right?!  This week, I’m playing along with challenge #75 Fall colors!

One last time for the year (most likely anyway), I’ve created an Autumn card.  This one is for a special Thanksgiving thank you.

Thanksgiving card

It’s a pocket card using the Fall Fun stamp set by Stampin’ Up clear back in 2002.  That is actually a set that had tons of love back in it’s day.  I used it all the time!  It was great to pull it back out for this challenge.  The turkey is from a stamp set I bought at a craft store about 5 years ago.

You can pull out the inside piece to write on.  Instead of the traditional open-and-read kind of card, the recipient can pull this “Thanks” piece out of the pocket.  Always fun to switch things up.

I’m excited that Thanksgiving is so close!!  And I think I might start cranking out some Christmas cards.

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Hi Kellianne! Thank you for your appreciation of our challenge! It never seems to take long before our “brand new” stamps get shoved to the side for the next batch of new stamps! A beautiful card! Elegant with the stamps and colors your used but elevated with a clothespin and twin! I love that embellie! But truly the best part is the turkey. You made it obvious for what the card is for without using a sentiment. That is way cool! Thank you for joining us at Retro Rubber!!

  2. So lovely! I love the colors of Autumn and yours choices are great. The Thanksgiving season is too short, in my opinion. We should be thankful everyday!! LOL Thank you for playing with us at Retro Rubber and look forward to seeing you in our gallery agin.

  3. That stitched banner frame is wonderful! The strong colour sets off all the autumn tones you’ve used. I thought it was a lovely card just from the thumbnail so was really impressed to discover it was such a great pocket card. Thanks for joining us again at Retro Rubber Challenge.
