Happy Birthday!

Today starts another new challenge at Double Trouble!

Thing 1 starts out with asking us to use our stash and trash!  Meaning look around, what scraps and unused things do you have laying around waiting to be used?

I have had scraps of this paper sitting for a long time!  I also had these cute images stamped and ready to be cut and colored. They are by My Favorite Things

Thing 2 says to play along with this sketch at Tuesday Morning sketches.  It’s perfect for using pattern papers!

If you’ve used scraps and played along with this sketch, be sure to enter at both Double Trouble and Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Thanks for stopping by today.  See you again soon!

Happy birthday, sweet friend!

I can hardly believe we’re almost to May!

A new challenge with Double Trouble starts today and it’s the favorite – Something, Anything, Everything!

Thing 3 has the option to use at least 3 colors from this fun Cinco de Mayo Clipart

AND another option – use an object from the tablets or an avocado.  I don’t have an avocado anywhere in my stash!  So I went with the cactus

As with all SAE challenges? Thing 2 wants you to choose a previous partner to pair up with.  I chose Color Dare. Their colors went perfectly with the tablets, but with a softer touch, which is what I wanted for my card

These cute little cactus plants and succulent images are from The Greeting Farm. The sentiment and the grid background die are from My Favorite Things

Thanks for stopping by to see my card today!  Have a fun Cinco de Mayo!

Thanks Tim Holtz floral

Here today with some mixed media and my very favorite Tim Holtz product ever – Brushstroke Floral mini dies

I’m playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, which is themed “Stencil It”

I used a Tim Holtz stencil to give detail to the background of my tags

I used both Distress Ink as well as Distress Oxide Ink to color the flowers and do all the shading and stenciling. Aren’t these flower dies just so cute! I love how distressed they look just the way they are

Thanks for stopping by to see my card today!  I’ll be back again soon

Clean and simple cupcake

Happy Monday!  I can’t believe we are already to the middle of April!  It’s so beautiful here, I don’t want April to get over too fast!

But let’s start the week with a simple challenge by Double Trouble!

Thing 1 says to keep it clean and simple!  I love a good simple card, but I haven’t done them for awhile!  So coming up with one that I was happy with actually took more time than I thought it would!

Thing 3 says to make your open space a color – not just white.  So this peachy card stock is what I went for, to match the cupcake frosting.  The only dimension on this card is a very little bit with the arch frame and some glossy ascents on the cherry

And that’s it! Thing 2 has us teaming up with Crafters Cafe this time around, so if you make a clean and simple card, be sure to link up there too!

Thanks for stopping by today!  See you again soon

Sending love

Happy first day of April!!!! Best month of the year.  And today starts a new challenge at Double Trouble!

Thing 1 wants to see you get krafty! Use kraft paper and be creative – you can use packaging, box pieces, bags, or even just your kraft scraps

I shaded everything with kraft ink and I mounted the main panel with kraft paper that I tore off of a box

Thing 3 says “blue planet”. Use blue on your card!  The blue I added was the pop of it on the globe.  This goes along well with Thing 2 and the challenge she has is partnering with – Inspiration Station.  They have this photo to inspire

I’m inspired by the brown background and that beautiful pop of blue with the earth!  I made most of the luggage in shades of brown and then let my cute little globe just pop!

Won’t this be cute for someone who travels a bunch!?!

Thanks for stopping by to see my card today.  We hope you’ll play along!

Basket full of Spring

Hi there!  This is my favorite time of year for card making because out come the florals! And Double Trouble has us reaching for them with this new challenge today

Thing 1 says to use your favorite floral image.  I don’t know if I can pick a favorite!  But everywhere we drive right now, there’s GORGEOUS Wisteria hanging everywhere.  I love it!!! So that’s the main flower for my card today

I reached for some VERY old stamps to play along with Retro Rubber too! I haven’t played with them in awhile and thought it would be so good to dig into the stash

I’m serious.  The basket is probably 25 years old from a set called “Berry Basket”, the “Painted Posies” is from 2005, so it’s 19 years old, and the “Soft Spring” was a host set from probably 5 years ago.  See how good it is to stamp from our stash?!

Thing 3 wants to see Easter elements like baskets,  bonnets, etc.  That’s where I got the idea for this basket that hadn’t been used in forever

I didn’t do a sentiment on this one.  I just love how it screams “Happy Spring”!

Thing 2 has us joining Beautiful Blossoms for this challenge.  They are a great one too because… FLOWERS! 😍

Can’t wait to see what you make!  Thanks for stopping by to see my card.

Country Road Birthday Wishes

Hi friends!  I hope you feel spring popping up where you live!  It is here, and I’m so happy! The trees and grass coming to life brings me to life too.

I have a rustic, country style card today using Spellbinders dies that I am ABSOLUTELY in love with.  I’ve been wanting to play with them for so long and finally did

I love birdhouses!  And having this one paired with the old fashioned barrel and water pump is so cute!

I used the Spellbinders dies “Rustic Garden” and “Garden Builder”.  I did some distressing with inks all over the background as well as the dies. The birthday sentiment is from old stamps in my stash but fit perfectly for what I wanted – just a simple birthday wish that didn’t distract from the cute country scene

I’m entering this one in the Superstar contest that Spellbinders is having.  I figured, “Why not?!”

I certainly love their products and feel like I’m reaching for them constantly

Thanks for stopping by to see my sweet Country Road card.  See you next time!

Hello There

Today’s card was inspired by the sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

When I saw the circle cluster, all I could think of was flowers (of course flowers.  My favorite kind of stamping)

My floral cluster ended up spreading out more but I do love the way it turned out.  I basically only used dies for this card!  Besides the sentiment, it’s all paper.

I kind of went with a mixed media theme for this one and I love all the little details and pieces.  Kind of reminds me of something vintage

I love a good sketch challenge and it’s been awhile since I’ve played along with one.  Atlantic always has a good one and this was fun!

Thanks for stopping by😊

I love everything about you

Happy Friday everyone!  The new Double Trouble Challenge starts today and Thing 1 wants to see green! 💚

I used products by Simon Says Stamp for my card and made this pretty leaf background stamp my main focus for green

I love soft greens.  So even though being pinch proof usually indicates a bolder green for St Patrick’s day, I opted to stick with the soft ones as I rarely use cards for St Patty’s.

Thing 3 wants to see a touch of gold.  I embossed these leaves and the flower in gold before coloring them. The flower and leaves in the focal point are on vellum to give a softer look

Thing 2 has usc playing along with Festive Friday!  I love their challenge because it’s a list of items to choose from.  It’s a boost for ideas!

I use the first 3 on the list with the gold sequins being my final touch

I love how glimmery and soft this card is and as of creating this post, I’ve already even sent it off to someone special, my daughter.

Hope to see you play along with us at Double Trouble and the challenge partner for this time – Festive Friday!

Vintage wedding

I had really fun spending a very long time on today’s card

I made this vintage mixed media wedding card for a good friend.  I enjoyed all the details and pulling it together

I used lots of different products – many of which came from old products stashed away and nearly forgotten!  One of them was the flower die that made these paper roses.  I don’t know if I’ve ever used it!

After assembling, I painted them with a mixture of Nuvo drops and ink refills to get the color I wanted for each. Notice the crinkly ribbon? That’s what happens when you emboss it with your heat tool. Such a fun effect for vintage projects!

The recipient absolutely loved it and received it at her fancy tea-party bridal shower today

Thank you for stopping by to see it!  Have a wonderful weekend!
